Lake Tinaroo

Spectacular Lake Tinaroo, the jewel in the crown of the Atherton Tablelands, is just an hours drive from tropical Cairns. Here, you'll enjoy a naturally air-conditioned sub tropical climate at an altitude of 670m (2,200ft). With over 200kms of scenic, constantly changing shoreline, this fascinating freshwater eco-system is 3/4 the size of Sydney Harbour.

Redclaw freshwater crayfish grow up to 500g & are caught using traps we can supplyThere are over 300 species of birds on & around the lake including; brolgas, rainbow lorikeets, pygmy geese, cockatoos, kingfishers &  jacana "Jesus" birds. You can fish year round for world record sized barramundi, some mangrove jack, black bream, or the local delicacy, redclaw freshwater crayfish.
